Jamie Scott Berniker

With over two decades of experience in financial services, Jamie Berniker is a passionate and results-oriented leader who specializes in revenue acceleration through innovation with strategic partnerships, corporate development, and strategic venture capital. He has a proven track record of launching new businesses and services as well as pursuing

acquisitions and executing both investments and partnerships that drive revenue growth while enhancing customer satisfaction.

My Story

As a corporate ventures and partnerships leader, Mr. Berniker is responsible for leading organizations to identify, evaluate, and execute opportunities that align with strategic goals and vision. He collaborates closely with business

unit leaders, fintech partners and external stakeholders to create value propositions, business cases, product requirements and go-to-market strategies for new concepts that solve emerging client needs and disrupt traditional market practices. He has also managed product launches, enabled sales teams and overseen the performance and integration of portfolio companies.

 

Mr. Berniker’s mission is to leverage his expertise and network in innovation and fintech to accelerate digital transformation and growth. Prior to driving partnerships and strategic investments for Consumer & Regional Banking and consumer payments for Huntington Bancshares Incorporated, Mr. Berniker led partnership teams with J.P. Morgan Payments & Commerce Solutions’ Innovation and Fintech Partnerships organization that advanced the company’s strategic priorities and new product capabilities. Over Jamie’s seven-year tenure at JPMorgan Chase, he held various

leadership roles in both the investment and consumer bank covering strategic partnerships and product management.

 

Previously, Mr. Berniker was the Head of Securities Class Actions Services at Institutional Shareholder Services (“ISS”). He also led ISS’ global Lean Six Sigma initiative that engaged the organization to strive for operational excellence by focusing on levers that improved flexibility, turnaround time, quality and reliability to help ISS best meet client needs. Prior roles within ISS’ parent company, Morgan Stanley Capital International, Inc. (“MSCI”) included leading strategic new market development and Asia sales.

 

Mr. Berniker also held various management roles at American Express, including leading a sales team for loyalty and credit card partnerships as well as managing teams that developed strategic alliances, joint ventures and made growth capital investments in technology companies that could accelerate American Express’ capabilities in meeting customer needs. He began his career with stints at Booz Allen & Hamilton strategic management consulting and Citigroup’s high yield investment banking.

 

Mr. Berniker received an M.B.A. in Finance and Marketing from The Wharton School and a B.S. with Distinction in Applied Economics & Business Management from Cornell University. Mr. Berniker resides in New Jersey with his partner, Nina, and two daughters, Sasha and Madeline. He enjoys mountain biking and photography, is passionate about DE&I and is a Trustee for Leadership Columbus and Investment Committee member for Temple B’nai Jeshurun in Short Hills, NJ.
