
Barry Greenblatt
Barry Greenblatt retired as Managing Director and Head of Enterprise Counterparty Risk Management at Wells Fargo in June 2022. He joined the firm in June 2010. At Wells Fargo he led a team responsible for governance and oversight of counterparty credit activity throughout the company and for underwriting and approving trading lines used by non-bank financial institutions globally. Client types included hedge funds, asset managers, pension funds, Mortgage REITS, broker dealers, and central clearing counterparties. Mr. Greenblatt routinely led the firm’s response to Regulatory inquiries and exams relating to Wells Fargo’s capital markets activities.
My Story
Mr. Greenblatt enjoyed a 35+ year career in financial services risk management, holding various roles at money center banks and an insurance company. He held senior risk management roles in the United States and London with responsibilities for numerous financial products including all types of derivative products, corporate loans, high yield bonds, asset securitization and non-recourse project finance.
Following his retirement from banking, Mr. Greenblatt began volunteering at various not-for-profit organizations, advising small businesses and mentoring/advising Fintech and other start-ups in the US and overseas. In January 2024 Mr. Greenblatt became an investor in Charlotte Angel Fund where he routinely volunteers for due diligence opportunities, making investment recommendations to the Fund.
Mr. Greenblatt resides in Matthews, NC with his wife and German Shepherd, Luna. He holds a B.S. in Applied Economics and Business Management from Cornell University and a M.B.A. in Finance and Marketing from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
Presently, Mr. Greenblatt enjoys spending his time mountain and road biking, skiing, learning yoga, training Luna and travelling.
