Wells Fargo joins forces with RevTech Labs to convene the region’s leading tech investors and entrepreneurs

Venture135, one of the premier venture capital events of the Southeast, is thrilled to announce a partnership with Wells Fargo to make waves in the fintech landscape. This year, the annual conference will delve deep into the heart of industry trends while addressing the diversity gap in an innovative and captivating way.

This year’s event will take place November 14-15 at the Barings World Headquarters in Uptown Charlotte. With a limited number of tickets available, Venture135 is an exclusive gathering, drawing more than 200 tech investors and entrepreneurs annually.

Rahul Baig, Managing Director and Head of Venture Capital Coverage at Wells Fargo, will serve as a keynote speaker alongside Mark McDowell with Real Ventures.

Baig, a fintech thought leader, recently shared his insights on the top-rated fintech podcast, “Breaking Banks,” in an episode titled “What’s Up with VC Investments.” He was joined by Sarah Hinkfuss with Bain Capital Ventures and Amias Gerety with QED Investors in giving “hot takes” on the evolving landscape of fintech and VC investments. Baig offered valuable perspectives, such as:

“It’s gone from ‘grow at all costs’ to ‘grow up at all costs.’ Those with an enduring model hopefully come out of the second half of this year, or certainly next year, demonstrating that to the market.”

“What started as disruption is evolving into ‘coopetition’ and then collaboration. Those who can exist at the ‘corner of First Avenue and First Street’ probably do well going forward.”

“There’ll be more M&A of equals before there is M&A by financial institutions and private equity until they (fintechs) can get to scale.”

In addition to Baig’s keynote, Wells Fargo will sponsor the Venture135 kickoff event in collaboration with Southeast Women in Fintech. This special event, held at the Grand Bohemian Hotel on Monday, November 13, at 5:00 p.m., is designed to unite the region’s top

women fintech founders, emerging women talent in financial institutions, women corporate executives, and allies committed to disrupting the gender disparity that has long plagued the finance and tech industries.

Sponsors and partners for Venture135 include RevTech Labs Capital, AIG, AvidXchange, Barings, City of Charlotte, Insperity, Connetic Ventures, Fifth Third Bank, Sia Partners, Trinet, Sunrise Banks, Brighthouse Financial, CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen), Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP, Wells Fargo, Botsplash, ATDC, ICBA, Insurtech NY, The HoltXChange, Global Insurance Accelerator, CoinPedia, The Leaders Magazine, and CryptoNewsZ.
